At Cloud 9 Foot Spa, we feel very honored to have Barbara Walling as one of our regular customers. Barbara is 75 years old (you would never guess it) and originally from Pasadena, Texas. She has a very energetic, full of life personality, and is always going from one event to the next! Her life is filled with friends, family, and work, all of which keeps her very busy. Currently, she is serving as a Board member on the Economic Alliance for the Ship Channel, because she enjoys being an active member of the community. She also loves to do water aerobics and be in the pool as much as possible in her spare time.
Barbara first came to our spa shortly after we opened, and had a one hour body massage that she just loved! After that first massage she told the receptionist and owner that she has worked as a Spa Director since 1990 and is a member of the Houston Spa Association. With almost 25 years in the spa business she told us she was impressed with our spa and said that she was going to be referring people to us! We were beyond excited that someone of her expertise would recommend Cloud 9 Foot Spa to her friends and family! Barbara has built, designed, developed, and managed prestigious spas including the Omni Hotel in Dallas and the Moody Gardens Hotel Spa in Galveston. She has also done this work with medical spas, including Memorial Hermann in Houston and Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. With such an impressive resume, we had to ask her what she liked about our spa and what she thought made us unique. She said that to begin with, she likes our catchy name and logo and the fact that Cloud 9 is not your typical “cookie cutter” spa. Barbara explained further, stating that she likes how our spa caters to each customer’s specific needs, which in turn, makes each customer happy with the experience. She stated that she can come into our spa and communicate to the front desk and the massage therapist exactly what areas she wants worked on. Barbara explained that in a lot of other spas, massage therapists usually do a routine massage without taking each customers’ personal factors into account, but at Cloud 9 we do.
Barbara has chronic back pain so she likes to get massages regularly for pain relief. She said that every time she leaves she feels more relaxed and her muscles are much less tense.
Barbara also pointed out that one of the ways Cloud 9 Foot Spa is different is because while there are a lot of massage spas in Houston, very few offer foot and body massages. Furthermore, she said that our spa is special because she receives great service from both the massage therapists and the front desk personnel, whom she feels are always very personal, professional, and courteous. She loves the ambience at Cloud 9 and the fact that we keep it clean at all times.
Barbara is an extremely generous person and buys gift cards for her friends, family, colleagues, and business associates almost every time she comes in! Barbara says that she loves to bring people together and feels that giving gift cards is a way to do that, as well as to show her appreciation for those she cares about. As a result, we have gotten to meet and get to know Barbara’s family and friends, all of whom are as exceptionally lovely and sweet as she is.
