Issaquah, WA — June 23, 2026

Cloud 9 officially welcomed the Issaquah community this week with the grand opening of its newest location — the company’s 10th nationwide and 2nd in Washington State. The celebration brought together guests, team members, franchise owners Joey and Chloe, and representatives from the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors, ambassadors, and city officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the milestone.

The event opened with remarks from Julie Hartwig, CEO of the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, who welcomed Cloud 9 to the city and thanked the company for the jobs it’s bringing to the local community. Hartwig spoke about her excitement for a family-friendly business joining Issaquah’s growing local economy.

Cloud 9 CEO Sean Peng then took the podium, reflecting on the company’s growth in the region. He noted that Cloud 9 opened its first Washington location in Redmond two years ago as its 7th location nationwide, and that Cloud 9 Issaquah now marks the company’s 10th location overall, and its 2nd in the state.

For Sean, the day carried a deeper meaning than a typical opening. “It is the start of something we care about deeply for over a decade: a place of care, built for families, right here in Issaquah,” he told the crowd. He reaffirmed Cloud 9’s identity as America’s Family-Friendly Spa, describing Cloud 9 as a place where self-care isn’t a luxury or something to feel guilty about, but simply part of taking care of the people you love most.

A Second Milestone: Cloud 9’s First Children’s Book

Alongside the grand opening, Sean announced the publication of Cloud 9’s first children’s book, The Dreams of the Penguins. The book, born out of 15 years of Cloud 9’s work, teaches young children how to care for their bodies and minds. Families with young children in attendance received a copy as a gift.

Honoring Issaquah’s Franchise Owners

Sean also recognized Joey and Chloe, the franchise owners behind Cloud 9 Issaquah, celebrating their leap into entrepreneurship. “An entrepreneur is someone with a clear vision and unwavering dedication, who works diligently to create real value for a community and to solve a real problem,” he said, tying their journey to Cloud 9’s broader mission of bringing affordable self-care within reach of every family.

He pointed to Joey’s background as a software engineer at Intel and Micron as proof of that dedication in action: Joey could have stayed comfortable in his career, Sean noted, but chose instead to build something real for the Issaquah community. Throughout the celebration, Joey and Chloe greeted guests warmly, helping create the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that has already become a hallmark of the new location.

A Standard of Excellence

Closing his remarks, Sean thanked the Issaquah team — from the front desk to the therapists — for their hard work in preparing for opening day. He left them with a guiding philosophy from Horst Schulze, co-founder of The Ritz-Carlton and author of Excellence Wins:

Serve without defects, serve with timeliness, and treat every family with genuine warmth and care.

“Let us hold ourselves to that standard of excellence, every day, right here in Issaquah,” Sean said.

Welcoming Issaquah to the Cloud 9 Family

The celebration included tours of the new spa, a guest raffle, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Issaquah Chamber leadership and city officials. As Sean put it, closing the ceremony: “We hope you and your family enjoy many years of excellent care with Cloud 9.”

Cloud 9 Issaquah is located off NW Mall St and offers Foot, Deep Tissue, and Swedish massage services for the whole family.
